2013 in Review

2012 was full of lots of changes (looking at you, Ireland and Carlos), so I definitely expected 2013 to be a year of re-adjustment and “finding my place” in America. I tried for a few months-quit one job to take another job that I thought I would love, but ended up having to quit. Unemployed and living at home wasn’t the vision I had for Spring 2013, but I wouldn’t trade those confusing months for anything now. I felt God slowly releasing me from the commitments I had in Texas and gently pushing me toward Mexico-I thank God that my family was there to support and help me. After a few months of waiting, I moved to Saltillo. While it definitely, definitely hasn’t been perfect, it has absolutely been 4 of the best months of my life. Not only do I get to see Carlos a lot, but I get to speak Spanish, and I get paid to teach Mexicans how to speak English.

God has been with me through all of 2013-those confusing times in Texas, the waiting, the joy of finally living in the country I have loved the most. I’m not even going to try to predict what 2014 holds, but if it’s half as crazy and adventurous as 2013 was, it’ll be a good one.

Thanks for reading, and for all your comments and encouragement!
